We’re meant to shine

To the broken hearted

This will feel like the end. And you will swear that this is the break that will finally kill you.

I promise that is only the shade of the sky before the breaking dawn. And you are not alone. You are under His watchful eye. In His loving care. He is the Doctor and you are His patient. This crucible isn’t your end. It is your polishing. Gold only burns to shine.

You must shed more of these chains. More of what binds you to this earth. Because you weren’t made for this world. You were made for the heavens. So you must rise. You will soar. But your wings must be free. And freedom requires struggle.

Rise up in hope, not despair. His promise has already come to pass. He has already saved you. The appoinment is set. But we must prepare and look our best, because on that day we’re not meant to just show up. We’re meant to shine.

Wait patiently, but not passively.

In this life, there will come different shades of tiredness. Some people will have minds that have grown tired.

For some, it will he their bodies.

For other, it’s the heart.

And then there will be some whose soul is tired.

These people didn’t get there overnight. These are the veterans of this life. The veterans of struggle, defeat. Loss. The veterans of tears and sleepless nights.

The veterans of prayer–but not the normal kind. The broken, desperate kind. The kind of prayer that can only come from a wounded heart.

To all those who are tired today, I can only ask you to look up to find the strength.

Wait patiently, but not passively.

Keep your eyes fixed. Don’t let the deceptive motions of this life distract you. Keep your eyes on God. Keep your heart fixed. On His work, His plan. And His mercy and support throughout it all.

Wait patiently, but not passively.

Watch His work, but don’t stop your own.

There is no better worship when you’re tired, then to keep fighting on.

You may think it doesn’t matter and nothing you do can make a difference. But remember, the seeds of an Oak don’t grow in a day.

Mental Toughness

Focus on Gratitude

Fear of loss drives us to desperation and kills joy long before actual loss. To break that fear remember this: what ever you fear losing actually doesn’t belong to you. It is a trust from God. It belongs to Him and He, out of His Mercy, is allowing you to keep it for an allotted time according to His will and wisdom. You have no right to object when He takes it back. It is His to give and to withhold. Rather focus on gratitude for every minute you are allowed to experience its presence. Gratitude is the opposite of fear.

Trust God

Something happens in the struggle: when your mind says it’s never going to work out, but in your heart, you know what God promised is on the way. Your mind says, “You’re wasting your time; there’s no use believing.” But you just keep on keeping on, doing the right thing, trusting God, thanking Him that’s it’s on the way. That’s sustaining faith. Don’t expect everything to be easy; don’t expect everyone to be for you. If it hasn’t happened yet, that doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen. The victory is on the other side of the opposition. It takes staying power, it takes a made-up mind, it takes someone that’s not moved by the circumstances.

Keep your joy

Keep your joy. Life is going to throw you curves. There will be disappointments, things that aren’t fair. That’s when you have to put your foot down and say, “Yet will I rejoice in the Lord.” We should make this decision every morning, “I will be joyful today.” Decide ahead of time that you’re going to enjoy the day. When people dump things on you, keep your lid on. Don’t let that get in you. When you’re tempted to get upset, frustrated, remind yourself that you have the power to remain calm. Keep it in perspective; this day is a gift. Honor God by living it grateful, happy, and to the fullest.

— Joel Osteen

New Level

You may feel fear, but that’s okay. Fear comes to us all. The key is to do it afraid. Do it in spite of what you feel; do it in spite of what your mind is telling you. Don’t get talked out of your destiny. God is setting you up to go to a new level. In those scary places, you’ll discover strength that you didn’t know you had, talent, determination, perseverance that you didn’t think was in you.

After the storm, comes a rainbow

GOD DOES NOT BURDEN A SOUL BEYOND THAT IT CAN BEAR.

— Quran (2:286)

It is important to understand that every hardship that we face in life is a test from God. It is a test of patience, devotion and trust in God. God does not burden anyone with any trouble in which they are unable, physically or mentally, to bear. This means that regardless of the situation, God is choosing to test you with that challenge because He knows that you can get through it: that you are strong enough. So trust in that, trust in that strength that God gave you. Because after the storm, comes a rainbow.

Shine Bright As You Are

Your past

Don’t allow your past to control your present or your future life, whatever happened you must let it go. Leave the pain of your past behind so it cannot ruin your future, leave the darkness of your past behind so it cannot block the light of your bright future.

Your past is gone, whatever happened, whether unjust, cruel, harsh, whatever the case, reliving the events will never do you any good.

If someone did you wrong the only way you can win is if you let go and move on. If you live in hate they win, if you live in the victim story they win. If you want to win you must focus on building your future and start right now.

Release that weight from your back so you can be free, don’t allow events from the past which are now gone to ruin this moment which is perfect, this moment which is now to enjoy, which is ready for you to live fully.

Other people’s opinions and judgments

Don’t allow other people’s opinions and judgments to control the direction of your life. The need to fit in and feel wanted can cause you to travel down paths you don’t want to travel. People pleasing is a curse that should be avoided at all costs.

Before you do anything ask yourself, am I doing this because I want to do it or because of my fear of judgment from others if I don’t. You were born unique for a reason, you were born to stand out, to be appreciated and loved for who you are.

Don’t dim your lights so you fit into the dull background of other people’s lives. Shine Bright As You Are. Those who really care for you will see that light and shine with you.

Make a Difference

Remember, dreams without goals are just dreams and they ultimately fuel disappointment. Have dreams, but have goals, life goals, yearly goals, monthly goals, daily goals. I try to give myself a goal every day.

Understand to achieve these goals you must apply discipline and consistency. You have to work at it every day. You have to plan every day. You’ve heard the saying “We don’t plan to fail, we fail to plan.” Hard work works. Working really hard is what successful people do.

Remember that just because you’re doing a lot more doesn’t mean you’re getting a lot more done. Don’t confuse movement with progress. My mother told me “Yeah you can run in place all the time and never get anywhere.

Continue to strive, continue to have goals, continue to progress and anything you want good, you can have. Claim it, work hard to get it, when you get it, reach back, pull someone else up. Each one teach one. Don’t just aspire to make a living. Aspire to make a difference.
